Frequently Asked Questions — ON2 Veterinary Oxygen Systems
Everything you'd want to know about ON2 systems, install, costs, and service before you commit a dollar.
Installation & Setup
- How much space do I need?
- Just 5 ft × 5 ft. The unit fits through any standard 30-inch doorway and tucks into a utility room, closet, or back hallway.
- Can I put it in a closet?
- Yes — as long as you have 5×5 ft of clear floor space and basic ventilation (a 10-inch exhaust fan on the 40/80 LPM units). Many clinics install it in a back closet so staff and patients never see or hear it.
- How loud is it?
- Refrigerator-quiet — about 56–59 dBA, similar to a household fridge and quieter than normal conversation. It will not disturb exam rooms, recovery, or your front desk.
- What voltage does it need?
- 10 LPM and 20 LPM units run on a standard 120V outlet (plug-and-play). 40 LPM and 80 LPM units need a 208V outlet (NEMA 14-30R), which your clinic electrician installs. We send full electrical specs before shipping.
- Do I need special permits?
- No permits needed. The system is plug-and-play medical equipment installed professionally. Your local electrician handles the outlet and exhaust fan per local code — we provide the specs in advance so there are no surprises.
- Does the room need ventilation?
- Yes — ventilation is required, not optional. The unit pulls in room air to generate oxygen and gives off warm exhaust that has to leave the room. The exhaust fan is sized to the system — 500 CFM on the 40 LPM, 1,000 CFM on the 80 LPM, and 1,500 CFM on the 80 Duplex — ducted to the outside.
Service & Support
- What's included in the O₂ Subscription?
- Everything: the oxygen plant, delivery, professional installation, all preventative maintenance, parts, labor, and a unit-replacement warranty for the life of your subscription. One monthly payment — no surprise invoices.
- Is shipping and installation included?
- Yes — always included. 10/20 LPM units are plug-and-play (about 10 minutes on site). 40/80 LPM units are professionally installed in under 2 hours. We schedule around your clinic — end of day or Friday afternoons so you never lose patient time.
- Will you remove my old equipment?
- Yes. We disconnect your old system, install the new one, and haul away the old equipment at no extra charge.
- What happens if my unit fails?
- You're covered. Our unit-replacement warranty means if anything goes wrong, we ship a replacement and our team handles the swap — your clinic stays on oxygen, no downtime. We monitor system health remotely so we often catch issues before you do.
- What are the next steps after I sign up?
- Our service team contacts you within 1 business day to confirm install date, send power and ventilation specs to your electrician, walk through delivery logistics, and confirm site readiness before we ship. Most clinics are live in 4–6 weeks.
Daily Operation
- Is the oxygen hospital-grade?
- Yes. ON2 generates hospital-grade O₂ — the same standard used in human hospitals worldwide. The system is built to ISO 13485, NFPA 99, and MDSAP standards.
- Do I still need oxygen cylinders?
- No more bulk cylinder purchases. We recommend keeping one small backup cylinder for power outages only. Most of our hospital installations haven't touched their backup cylinders in 7+ years.
Costs & Ownership
- Are there any other costs beyond the monthly payment?
- No. As long as the unit is properly installed and ventilated, your monthly payment covers the equipment, delivery, install, maintenance, parts, and labor. The only thing on your side is the electricity it uses.
- What does it cost to run?
- Very little. 10/20 LPM units run roughly $1–2/day in electricity. 40/80 LPM units run roughly $5–8/day, depending on your state's rates. Most clinics still save thousands per month vs. cylinder delivery.
- Can I cancel my subscription?
- Yes. The O₂ Subscription is a true subscription — no long-term lock-in. We ask for a short minimum term to cover install logistics; after that you can cancel anytime with 60 days' notice and we collect the equipment.
- Do I ever own the system?
- Two paths: with the O₂ Subscription you never own the unit — that's intentional, because it means we keep it healthy and replace it when better tech arrives. If you prefer to own outright, ask us about our 5-year lease-to-own option ($1 buyout at term end).
